Strategic Tips for Ndalo Wellness

  • The "Main Centre" Strategy: In South Africa, couriers (like The Courier Guy, Pudo, or Aramex) often have different rates for "Main Centres" vs "Outlying Areas." By splitting these into two flat rates, you avoid "sticker shock" at checkout while protecting your margins.

  • Set a Clear Threshold: As mentioned in your research, aim for a free shipping threshold that protects your profit. If your average courier cost is R100, set your free shipping threshold at R600–R800 to ensure you aren't losing money on smaller orders.

  • Leverage Pudo/Pargo: Since you are in Khayelitsha, consider offering Pudo or Pargo pickup points as a lower-cost alternative for your customers. It’s often cheaper than door-to-door delivery and very popular in SA.

  • Align with "Food is Medicine": Since your products (like juices and shots) are perishable or fragile, add a small disclaimer in your "Fridge" collection that says: "Due to the fresh, preservative-free nature of our items, we recommend selecting [Express/Overnight] delivery at checkout for optimal freshness.
